Our BlueMotion and BlueMotion Technology models make an important contribution here.

BlueMotion: This is the label we give to the most fuel-efficient Volkswagen model in each class. BlueMotion cars are the real benchmark in their respective segments. They achieve this through an intelligent engine management with the start-stop system, the brake energy recovery system based on energy recuperation, improved aerodynamics as well as low rolling resistance tyres. All these technologies have one aim: to reduce fuel consumption as much as possible. BlueMotion cars are also setting new aesthetic standards. The special design of the interior and exterior as well as the famous logo on the radiator grille and rear differentiate BlueMotion cars from the standard models.

Beyond this, we also aim to employ measures to reduce fuel consumption in a wider range of models and thus offer our customers greater choice. You can recognise these models by the presence of the BlueMotion Technology label. Here, you can choose between different models, TSI or TDI engines, a DSG or a manual gearbox as well as various trim lines.

The aim here is to combine technologies that reduce fuel consumption with the desire to have the greatest choice possible. Some of the individual technological innovations used to improve efficiency in the BlueMotion models are used here too. Unlike the BlueMotion models however, you have to look a little closer to spot the difference between the cars with BlueMotion Technology and the standard models. You will notice the difference though: apart from the discreet logo on the back, you’ll also spot it when you look at the fuel gauge.
