Trapezoidal-Link Rear Suspension

Trapezoidal-Link Rear Suspension

The trapezoidal-link rear suspension, as used in the Phaeton, features a special wheel carrier with a lower trapezoidal link, an upper transverse link and a track rod located behind the trapezoidal link. The spring is connected to the trapezoidal link and the damper is coupled to the wheel carrier in a space-saving layout. This design produces excellent driving and handling characteristics with outstanding ride comfort.
